Niall Cunningham

Niall Cunningham

Position: Chief Executive Officer

Commencing his business resume with Trans Aer in 1993, Niall Cunningham has 20 years experience in the Aviation Section, moving onto Shannon Aircraft Refinishing in 1997 as Managing Director. Niall maintained his role during the acquisition of SAR by Lufthansa Technik in 1999.

In 2009 Niall Cunningham led a management buyout of Lufthansa Technik Painting Shannon expanding the Company through the establishment of a base at Dublin Airport increasing the Companies capacity by 150% and further expansion followed through the acquisition of two new purpose built Hangars in Ostrava, Czech Republic adding a further 100% capacity to the original Company.

In tandem with this expansion additional Services and Products were offered through the establishment of a sister Company, Eirtech Aviation Services Ltd that offer Design Engineering Capabilities and Approvals, Production Organisation Approvals, CAMO Services and Technical Asset Management.

Gerry O’Shea

Gerry O’Shea

Position: Director Operations

Commencing his Aviation career in 1990 at Shannon Aerospace he built his experience and qualifications over the next 6 years leading Teams in both Shannon and Germany with LTU-German Cargo on inception of B757-B767 program.

In 1996 he joined Sun Air and later Safair in South Africa and for the next 3 years was involved in introducing the DC9 and MD80 aircraft into line operation in South Africa as well as being part of the Team which established a DC9 heavy maintenance facility at Johannesburg Airport.

Gerry commenced work with GECAS in 1999, working with the Engine division, Aircraft Lease Redeliveries and Aircraft Cargo Conversion programs and eventually working with the GECAS Engineering Team until 2009.

In 2009 along with Niall Cunningham he established “Eirtech Aviation Services” and has been integral in growing the scope of Services and products the company has to offer in Design Engineering, Parts Manufacturing, CAMO Services, Technical Asset Management, RD development and Composite Repair and manufacturing.

Drawing on his extensive experience in the Aviation sector over the last 26 years, Gerry is responsible for the continued operational and strategic expansion of the Company both in Europe, Asia and USA.  

Peter Collins

Peter Collins

Position: Chief Operations Officer

Peter commenced his aviation career in 1991 when he joined Shannon Aerospace. The subsequent 9 years saw Peter build on his experience in senior positions, both in Shannon Aerospace and later Shannon Aircraft Refinishing, before he joining Lufthansa Technik Painting Shannon as Operations Manager in 1999.

Peter was an integral part of the management buy out and the formation of Eirtech Aviation alongside Niall Cunningham, he held the position of Operations Director from November 2009 to December 2013 becoming Chief Operations Officer in January 2014.

Drawing on his extensive experience in refinishing and complimentary services, Peter is responsible for operational projects and events across all facilities.  Peter travels extensively to meet the strategic demands of our expanding customer base.

Ben Whelan

Ben Whelan

Position: Group Resource Director

Ben joined Eirtech Aviation at the inception in late 2009.  His background is in Finance and dates back 25 years with the majority of that experience firmly rooted in the aviation industry.  He is a qualified CPA Accountant and holds a Degree in Business from the University of Limerick, he is currently completing a Masters in Quality Science & Lean Systems. Ben brings his wealth of expertise from Shannon Aerospace, Ulster Bank and the Saudi International Bank to the Eirtech Aviation portfolio.

Ben started his aviation career in Shannon Aerospace where he was promoted through the ranks of the Finance department to eventually becoming the Finance Manager, during his time in there he spearheaded their very successful Lean programme across the facility which has since permeated throughout the Lufthansa Technik group.

Ben is taking this knowledge to Eirtech Aviation as well as his expertise in creating systems and processes that are now standard across our company.

Martin O’Connell

Martin O’Connell

Position: Chief Financial Officer

Martin O'Connell joined Eirtech in 2015.  

He has over 20 years of experience providing finance support to multinational companies across a number of industries.

His wealth of finance experience is dispersed across operations support, back office accounting, financial services, after sales support and project management.

Martin holds a Masters Degree in European & International Accounting and Auditing from University College Cork and is a member of Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) of Ireland.

Steve Pickering

Steve Pickering

Position: Sales Director EMEA

Steve has a wealth of experience in the Aerospace Industry and has over twenty five years knowledge of the coatings and refinishes market. In his early career he worked in a technical capacity and then moved across to concentrate on a sales/operational role. He has vast experience with paint manufacturers and extensive product awareness. 

Steve has worked with the majority of the main carriers in the airline industry alongside some of the top names in the motor sport industry. Since taking on his current role at Eirtech, Steve has further expanded his understanding of our customer requirements as we continue to expand our business and the facilities/services we are able to offer.

Patrick Donnellan

Patrick Donnellan

Position: VP Sales Aircraft Refinishing

Patrick commenced his career in the marketing and education sector where he spent three years lecturing at Limerick Institute of Technology.He joined Eirtech Aviation in 2012 as Sales Manager for  Aircraft Refinishing Services. In 2016, Patrick was promoted to VP Sales where his core areas of responsibilities are Aircraft Refinishing, Aircraft Interior Refurbishment and Aircraft Graphics.

 

A sales professional Patrick has over 10 years’ experience in Marketing, Project Management and also has a solid understanding of Information Technology having lectured in this area in his early career. Patrick is based in our Shannon Headquarters.

Glenn Bowker

Glenn Bowker

Position: VP Sales for Aircraft Refinishing Services

Glenn joined Eirtech in 2016 as VP Sales for Aircraft Refinishing Services. His background is in chemistry having commenced his career as a chemist and gaining a BSc in Chemistry. Glenn transitioned into sales management in a technical capacity spending over 20 years in international technical sales and sales management within the speciality coatings and MRO chemical sector.

Glenn has extensive knowledge of aerospace coatings systems having worked with major coating manufacturers over the past 5 years and is knowledgeable on both conventional and Basecoat/Clearcoat systems on both commercial and VIP aircraft projects.

Glenn is based in the UK and manages Eirtech’s customer base in the UK, much of Eastern Europe, Middle East and South Africa.

Niall Kearns

Position: Senior VP Sales, Engineering & Technical Services

Niall has 12 years experience in a variety of sales related roles across a broad range of industries, in both multinational companies and indigenous start-ups in Ireland. His background is in Technology, Telecommunications and International Management. 

Niall is responsible for all Engineering and Technical Service activities. 

Tim Mulligan

Tim Mulligan

Position: VP Sales, Engineering and Technical Services

Tim commenced his career in the Finance Sector where he spent five years working with Multinationals in the U.K and Asia. He has also worked as a Business Development Executive for an early stage FinTech start-up in Asia.

Tim holds a B.Comm from University College Dublin and an MBS in Asian Business from University College Cork/Nanyang Technological University Singapore.

Ashley Duggan

Ashley Duggan

Position: CAMO Manager

With over 20 years’ experience in the aviation industry Ashley began his career in Shannon Aerospace in 1993 as a Licensed Aircraft Engineer. In 2000 Ashley joined Aer Lingus where he served 12 years as a Line Maintenance Engineer on the A320/A330 Fleet.


An experienced aviation professional Ashley has worked as a Technical Consultant and Records Analyst for Aero Inspection Ireland, MidAir Aviation, Omega Aviation Services and a variety of Aircraft Lessors, he has extensive experience in aircraft Delivery/Re-Deliveries and Aircraft/Records Audits.
 

Keith McKerchar

Keith McKerchar

Position: Head of Design

Keith has 35 years experience in the aviation industry predominantly in engineering roles. After completing his apprenticeship with South African Airways, he completed a degree in Aeronautical Engineering. Keith worked in a design company designing modifications to civil and military aircraft, both in South Africa and Ireland, before joining Shannon Aerospace where he worked in Service Engineering. For the last 5 years there, Keith was Engineering Manager.

Keith spend 2 year as a consultant with GECAS in the Middle East, before he joined Eirtech Aviation as an Airworthiness Signatory, and later as Chief of the Office of Airworthiness and Head of Design for our Part 21 DOA. 

Paul Kennedy

Paul Kennedy

Position: Composite Manager

Commencing his Aviation career in 1990, Paul joined Shannon Aerospace in the area of Structures and Composites, initially working in the Interiors Department then moving to the planning department to establish the role of Shop Planner. In 1996 Paul joined SRS Aviation, where he worked for 18 years, he spent the last 8 years of this as Supervisor/Inspector and then as the C-Release Inspector for Composite repairs.

In 2011 Paul established All Around Composites as a Consultancy based company, completing a study on the current state of "Composite Repair and Training in Ireland" on behalf of Enterprise Ireland and IComp (Irish Centre of Composite Research). In 2014 Paul developed the capabilities of the company to include repair and training, providing repair and training support for both base and AOG maintenance activities in Ireland and Europe. As of 2015 Paul is now leading the completion of a National Policy Document for Composites in Ireland.

Paul is also a visiting lecturer in both the University of Limerick and the University of Limoges in relation to composite repair, as well as partaking in a number of composite research projects in universities and colleges in Ireland.

Muriel Fenton

Muriel Fenton

Position: Quality Manager

Muriel Fenton holds the position of Quality Manager for the Paint Organisations, Part 145 Organisation and the Part 21G Production Organisation. She joined Eirtech Aviation in April 2013 with over 25 years’ experience in the aviation industry as well as a variety of management roles across the aviation industry. 

Prior to joining Eirtech Aviation, Muriel held the position of Quality & Training Manager at Lufthansa Technik, Malta from 2011 to 2013.

Muriel commenced her aviation career in 1990 with Shannon Aerospace, a joint venture between GPA (Guinness Peat Aviation), Lufthansa and Swissair as a Systems & Engines Aircraft Maintenance Technician.  In 1995, Muriel was promoted to the work documents section of the Engineering & Planning Department and in 1998, was appointed Senior Jobcard Engineer.  Muriel was then promoted to the Quality Department as Quality Assurance Engineer where she completed a Diploma in Quality Management from Business Excellence Institute in Dublin.  The diploma applies a systematic methodology in Quality management principles and techniques.  She is also a Certified Quality Engineer awarded by the American Society of Quality (ASQ).  In 2008, Muriel was appointed to the position of Quality Assurance Manager.

Pat O’Brien

Position: Non-Executive Director

Pat is a former partner and senior tax advisor at KMPG Dublin and New York, advising international leasing, banking and corporate treasury clients with a paricular emphasis on aircraft leasing and financing.

CEO of Eirtech Aviation, Niall Cunningham welcomed Pat to the board and said, “Pat is widely considered one of the world’s leading advisors in the aviation industry and is a foremost expert in the area of aircraft leasing. His credentials and reputation are second to none and he will play a significant role in the continued development and diversification of Eirtech."
